Tatsunori focuses on the functions of kelp that contribute to marine conservation and water purification in Japan. He started kelp cultivation in Yokohama, aiming to achieve a circular economy by utilizing kelp for purposes beyond food consumption. He continues his efforts to expand the positive seaweed cultivation impact to other regions in Japan. In 2020, he received the Environmental Minister's Award from the Ministry of the Environment. He is known as the "Prince of Kelp" in Japan.
